Easy to make decorative bobby pins

Hello everyone, hope you had a wonderful holiday season full of lots of love, family, friends, food & drinks. Now that the reality of life has set in again it's time for fun easy project. The other day on my way to work on the train I noticed these little girls with the cutest bobby pins holding their hair back. Of course the next thought in my mind was i want to make some :) Since i have so much miscellaneous items in my room, i knew it was a matter of finding what works...I hope you love & enjoy

You will need:
*bobby pins
*nail polish (i used 4 colors: white, yellow, purple & red)
*clear topcoat
*glitter
*piece of cardboard or construction paper folded in 3
*plastic bag or some sort of protector for your table

Start by arranging the bobby pins on your piece of cardboard or paper. I happen to have 8 different colored glitters & I decided to make 6 of each color so I grouped together how I'm going to paint them.

Apply a decent coat of colored polish on the bobby pins. It is easier for you to paint all the ones you are doing of 1 color at the same time. Quickly sprinkle on glitter while its wet. Separate the pins as soon as you put the glitter on.

Then you want to seal it all with a clear polish. Start by sealing them in order by color, lightest to darkest so you have minor color transfer.

I wanted to use the minimum amount of polish color so I used the white to really make the color pop, you can use coordinating colors if you want. I used white on the white, assorted, blue & green glitters & coordinated the purple, red & gold polishes with the glitter.

These are great for girls involved in sports or dance to dress it up a bit. You can also get the blond or white bobby pins and just use clear and add glitter. Also, use the light ones to paint in just solid colors & use the polish to add polka dots or any other fun design.

Rejuvenate & Renew

Put away your summer gear and get ready for the fabulous fall. After months and months of abusing your skin in the sun it is time to get rid of all that dead burnt skin and bring it back to a healthy glow. I personally, am a huge fan of making my own products out of ingredients we all have in our home, I feel they do their job wonderfully without paying department store prices.

Body Scrub:
4 oz Olive Oil
2 oz Baby Oil
Sugar
Brown Sugar

In a tupperware mix first 2 ingredients, slowly add some sugar and brown sugar until it turns into a paste. Keep lid closed until ready to use.

To Use:
Before getting out of the shower or bath rub paste on entire body in circular motion. Rinse well and pat dry, even though your skin will feel silky smooth, apply a body lotion with SPF if done in the morning. No need to in the evening, just apply some vaseline on your feet and cover with a cotton socks while you sleep. Your skin will love you I promise.

For the face I simply add a little baking soda to my current face wash and it turns into a scrub. Baking soda is gentle enough to be used daily.

Always remember beauty starts from within. Drink plenty of water, eat right, get plenty of sleep and exercise at least 3 to 4 days a week.

Quick & Easy Twist & Turns

Hello. Everyone. Hope you had a fantastic week. I wanted to get this to you guys before the week started but in a not so smart move of mine, I forgot to save my edits. So, i just spent the last 3hrs re-shooting & editing this video.
I remember being in such a trance the 1st time I watched  Mami doing a fishtail braid on 1 of my sisters. In less than 2hrs I had it perfected & I was on my way to braid every single one of my dolls hair. Here I am about 25yrs later still incorporating a braid into my daily hairstyle.
Whether it's braiding my front area into a cute bohemian crown, my grown up Pocahontas pigtails or adding texture to a never out of style classic chignon, I am never tired of them. What I love about them is their versatility. Yes. Of course they look absolutely adorable on lil girls but they are so easily translated for adults.
Follow the link to my video, where I'll show you how to do two different hairstyles incorporating braids. One done with a fishtail braid & the other with a regular 3 strand braid. Once you get the basic idea on how to do the actual braid, styling it up is up to your own personal preference. As this week goes by I will post up pictures of my braided up hairstyles I decide to wear :)

Welcome. Hello & Thank You.

Welcome to a place where you are bound & encouraged to OD on all things beauty, fashion, life, art & love. Growing up in a huge family, raised by a grandmother who was a Seamstress and a mother who is a Hairdresser, this is in my blood. It is no surprise that I chose to become a freelance Make-Up Artist & Hairdresser. What was considered playtime for me as a child has definitely worked in my favor as an adult. There are so many things I mixed & played with that I'm excitedly looking forward to serving up many of my tricks & beauty insights with the hope to making your life a bit easier.

Get ready to get "TWISTED" next week ; )
